This year we will have an expanded format to give more
Adult ESL Learners a chance to participate and win prizes.
There will be two Preliminary Rounds for LINC 2 to 4 and for
LINC 5 to 7 respectively. Each Round will see 30 contestants
try for the top 15 spots. This will leave 30 Finalists in both
the Lower and the Higher Levels of Competition to advance
to the Final Rounds.
Dates for Preliminary Rounds:
Tuesday, October 21 & Thursday, October 23
LINC 2 to 4 (30 contestants each)
Tuesday, October 28 & Thursday, October 30
LINC 5 to 7 (30 contestants each)
The Preliminary Rounds will be held at The Toronto Star.
Dates for Final Rounds:
Thursday, November 6—LINC 2 to 4
Thursday, November 13—LINC 5 to 7
The Final Rounds will be held at Toronto City Hall.
Registration starts September 2, 2008
Selection Procedure of Contestants:
Once again, each class/centre will have a representative.
A First Draw will determine who is selected to make up the
full quota of 30 contestants for each Preliminary Round.
A Second Draw will determine the selection of Alternate Contestants.
All Registrants are invited to stand by in case there are
cancellations.
Registration Forms, Guidelines, Spelling Lists will all be made available September 2, 2008, at our website. Look for our website at the end of May for information and updates.
Until then, please check this blog or email us at esl.spell@gmail.com.
